What to do - Swelling
A swelling usually indicates infection. The infection can be coming from the tooth (a tooth abscess) or from the gums (gum infection) or from both.
Pain is usually associated with swelling, but not always. It is very important for you to consult a dentist as soon as possible if a swelling appears, especially if the swelling is on your face or neck.
In cases where there is swelling on the face or neck, and you are unable to consult a dentist, it is important that you seek alternative medical advice.
