What to do - Crown fallen out
The usual purpose of a crown is to protect what already is a weak and delicate tooth.
If a crown falls out, the tooth becomes exposed and unprotected, and can often be very sensitive to hot and cold temperatures. The tooth is also prone to become infected as the tooth is now exposed.
If no pain is experienced, it is still prudent to have the crown refitted as soon as possible, as it becomes more and more difficult to refit the crown the longer you leave it.
Sometimes the crown cannot be reused and a new crown may be needed.
